Advice for Weight Loss Testing

Weight loss, particularly with treatments like GLP-1 medications, can affect and be affected by a number of things happening in your body. Blood testing gives a clear, objective way to check in on your metabolic health, both before starting treatment and as you progress.

Our Weight Loss Testing range includes three panels, designed for different stages of your journey:

  • Weight Loss Screening - a broader initial check, useful before starting a weight loss treatment
  • Weight Loss Monitoring - ongoing checks of key metabolic markers while you're on treatment
  • Weight Loss Monitoring incl. Vitamin D - the same monitoring panel, with Vitamin D included

Choose from two convenient at-home collection methods:

  • Finger Prick Kit a quick, simple sample taken from your fingertip
  • Tasso / Autodraw Kit a needle-free device applied to your upper arm that gently draws a blood sample

Both collection methods are analysed to the same laboratory standard. Your results are reviewed by our clinical team and made available securely online.

Weight Loss Testing FAQs (6)

Weight Loss Screening is typically used before starting treatment, as a broader initial check. Weight Loss Monitoring is used once you're already on treatment, to track key markers over time. The Vitamin D option simply adds a Vitamin D check to the standard Monitoring panel.

Not necessarily. Screening is generally most useful as a baseline before starting. If you're already being monitored, the Monitoring panel is usually the more relevant option, though your prescriber can advise based on your individual situation.

Vitamin D levels can be relevant to general health and wellbeing during a weight loss journey. The Vitamin D option lets you include this alongside your routine monitoring markers.

Both use the same lab analysis, so your results are equally reliable. Finger Prick uses a small lancet on your fingertip. Tasso uses a small device on your upper arm that gently draws a liquid blood sample without a finger prick, which some people find more comfortable.

This depends on your individual treatment plan. Your prescriber will advise on how often retesting is recommended for you.

Results are typically available within a few working days after your sample reaches the lab.
